It's in good shape. A little surface rust in spots. Owners son drove it to break.

Your not the only one who has un bolted a torque converter to isolate engine noises. We are checking for noises not dyno testing the thing, so I also have never had a flex plate blow through the trans into the lot next door, LOL I love the stuff I read on here. Good luck finding a good XJ Jamie. OK everyone , that's a Rap.
so u unbolted the torque converter thru the inspection area, pushed it into the transmission and it went about an inch? then u cranked the engine to see if it still knocked? and if it didnt, it was the flexplate? so it still knocked and u bolted it back up?
