Default Could I fit 31's...

I used to have a Wrangler, but this is my first Cherokee. I will use this strictly as my daily driver with no offroading at all. Could I fit 31's on since I'm not doing anything aggressive with it?

is it stock height? if its stock height you will need to trim fenders, and get the correct backspacing. I am not 100% sure on the backspacing, but i know you would have to trim your fenders for sure. I am sure more people will chime in with some more help. Welcome to the XJ side

As far as I know it's stock height, it looks like it at least. Yeah, I just want the biggest tire possible for street driving, just for that more aggressive look. Thanks for the info so far! I miss the TJ, but I'm enjoying the room of the XJ!

It's a 99...does it have 15" or 16" wheels on it? If 16", you can get the 235's on it (which come out about 30.5") and it would only rub if you flexed hard and turned. I have them on my '00 and they look great and ride great.

31's you will definitely have to trim, and will still likely rub.

I put my 31 10.5s 0n when my jeep was still stock rims and all no trimming needed but they will rub when you turn hard i would think if you got the right backspacing you would be just fine to run them without hacking your fenders but that's just my opinion

Default ? about back spacing

Does a person want less BS than more? Is it true the lower the number the more the tire will stick out of the fender?

BUT.....

if you went with a minimal (2.5-3") lift, what would be the biggest tires without trimming?

^ha I've heard that before. I'm pretty sure thats what I told my mom when I bought my first truck a 1976 chevy k-10...then i put a 6inch lift and 35's under it....then it became strictly offroading with no daily driver at all.

So you're sayin that 235s are comparable to 30's and might be a bit bigger?

On 16 inch rims, yes. the 235/75/15's are like 29.5....so with an inch bigger rim....
