Default Cotter Pin

So I'm replacing my front hub assemblies in my 01. Got timken assemblies, and all new hardware from my Jeep dealer except for the cotter pin. It seems that nobody around here has it. The size is 4mm x 40mm. I went to fastenal and a few other places and I would have to buy a box of at least 100. I put the size in a metric calculator, and its pretty close to 1-1/2 x 5/32 which everyone has. Also should I use stainless or just regular zinc plated steel? Thanks

Yes, the standard size will work fine. A cotter pin isn't meant to hold a load at all. It's just mean to keep the castle nut from loosening. In the past, I've used a piece of heavy gauge wire through the hole and bent it on both ends.

Material also doesn't really matter. Just pick one. I'd use the zinc plated steel.
