Default Correct u bolts?

Went to the local 4x4 shop and picked up some u bolts for my new 8.25. But when I got home and fit them around the axle, I can't fit them on all the way with out beating them on with a hammer (which I have not done yet). I'm guessing they aren't the right ones. So I crawled under my jeep and fit them around my D35 and the u bolts are too big for it. So I know they aren't for a D35, but it doesn't seem like they are for an 8.25 either. So, do these ubolts normally take a lot to fit on the axle?

Picture 1 is the ubolt on my 8.25 as far as I could get it to go with my hands.

Picture 2 is the measurement on the sticker for the ubolt.

Are these the right ones? Thanks.

Looks like a fit to me. When you torque the nuts it should draw up against the bottom of the tube. If not, then use the hammer

8.25 axle has 3in u-bolts and D-35 uses 2.75in bolts. Sounds like you have D-35 bolts.

looks like you've got the correct ones.

1/2 inch stock, 3 inch bend, 6.75 stack height. those are 8.25 measurements.

do the spring plates fit over the ends?

Kjc- that's what I thought

Troy- that's what I thought too, but I put them around my D35 and they were definitely too big

Caged- I won't know if the fit over the spring plates till I put in on Wednesday, as I am using the ones that are on my jeep now

I put new u-bolts on my 8.25 over the weekend. They were snug at the opening of the U as the threads passed over the axle and I had to smack 'em a bit to get them on. I think part of it was the tight fit where they have to pass between the break line and the axle. But once they were about half-way on, they slid right into place. The curve in the bolts matched the axle perfectly.
