Hello, not sure if this is the correct place to post this question. I have a 1994 Jeep Cherokee 4WD 4.0L MFI 6cyl and not sure what type of transmission fluid it takes. I tried searching on google but found 0 direct answers. I'm new when it comes to cars so please no acronyms. Many thanks.

Dex/Merc or Dexron III is what your AW4 needs, that is your direct answer.

Cheap store brand.

A decent store brand.

Good name brand.



And then there's the WRONG stuff:


This one is a mistake!

So is this one. Mercon V is not the same as Dex/Merc, even though "Merc" is short for Mercon.
