Cooling system for the win
It took me some time, but its installed...
CSF 3 row, Hesco high flow water pump, Hesco high flow thermostat housing, new temp send unit, thermostat, and Grand Cherokee fan clutch with OEM Cherokee blade. I can't hit 210 flooring it doing 80 up a three mile hill on the interstate after driving 70 plus for 20 miles.
Tight fit with the fan clutch but man does that thing move some air. No noticeable power loss either.
Pretty happy with Arkansas summer right around the corner and how it was riding close to the red at highway speeds begore the install. Not to mention me never installing anything like that myself before.

Sounds like a great set-up and job well done BUT, the real test will be......not moving for 30-45 min in bumer-2-bumper traffic, on black asphalt, 105+ in the shade and a/c pumping.

Thats what was weird about it before was it would be fine in stop and go driving and would stay around 210. It was on the interstate that it's always had problems. Last summer it was one of the hottest on record here. 110-117 for weeks at a time in the city plus 90+ humidity. No problems driving around town in stop and go during rush hour. Just once I got it to highway speeds?

Overheating at hi-way speeds is sign of a plugged rad and/or poor air flow thru the rad. The XJ rad is really small (surface area) so all cooling system components must be in top notch condition in order for the XJ to keep it's cool in high ambient temps, with big tires, heavy load driving conditions, etc. Again, job well done. Also, u've got one hellava mods list.

Mine never overheats but it does creep up to about 205 on a long grade. Then it drops back down quickly. I dont like the idea of it running that warm.

I have to look at my receipts but I think it was around $400-$500. But it could be done for a lot cheaper.
