The bubbles in the radiator test isn't really accurate. If you want accuracy, do a compression test or better yet a leakdown test. They rent out the testers at most parts stores and you just need an air compressor.

What do you mean you added antifreeze mix for the winter though? what did you fill it with before?

Sounds a lot like the old OEM pump did before it went out (which lasted an amazing 165,xxxmi.). I don't want to replace the pump with another p.o.s. that will just die in another month. I'm thinking of getting a Hesco unit: http://www.hesco.us/products/7967/hi...-pump-hf58-455 I've read mostly good reviews about them. Thing is, everyone says they have a lifetime warranty but I don't see that anywhere on Hesco's site. I don't care if it is high performance or not, I just want it to last like the old one, any suggestions other than Hesco?
It's possible with poorly maintained cooling systems for the impeller blades on the water pump to rot through and not be able to move any coolant. Saw that before on a Ford ranger. Never heard of that pump but I would either go OEM or Gates. They don't usually sell Gates in parts stores but at rockauto.com it's like $20 or $25. They make alot of the OEM pumps and timing belts for other cars. If you find an Aisin pump that would be good too.

Also the plain water isn't going to help with rust, especially with an iron block and head. Regular 50/50 antifreeze will stop that.
