Default cooling system flush

Anyone foresee any issues in using well water to flush with?

I don’t it matters as long as your going to service the system directly afterwards.

the chemistry majors here may tell you that shouldn’t use well water or city water to service. I don’t know.

service with premix or mix with distilled water.

Upon more thinking...just do it thinking is it should be diluted enough don't think it would matter.

Thing that concerns me is our water tests fine except for limestone. We get a crust build up on the edges of our faucets over a period of time. Certainly don't want it in my cooling system. Might take a chemistry major to address this issue. lol
Also is it true you can't completely empty the system before adding coolant (50/50 mix)?

I'd follow with a few gallons of distilled water, but when you are flushing repeatedly to get the gunk out, use city water, well water, any clean water. Sometimes to really get it clean, you need many, many gallons. Use what's cheap and easy!

Just follow with some distilled water to get the last of the minerals out. Then add pre-mixed coolant. Good to go.

Good idea. Not expecting any gunk or such in the system. It's been kept serviced since it was new so I expect to only have to do a minimal flush with well water. When I replaced the whole system the OEM water pump looked like new.

Unless you remove the block plugs and possibly the freeze plugs I read you still leave about a gallon in the block.

Yes, that's why you want to flush with lots and lots of any kind of clean water, then with distilled water.

I doubt it's a full gallon, though. Maybe half? Just guessing from having my head off and seeing how it all fits together.

Tried one time to remove a block plug and it just wasn't going to happen. Anyway to use compressed air to clear the block? If not I'll just do a good a flush.

Driven Racing makes an additive called CSP. It neutralizes minerals in well water and city water. That’s the claim at least.

Probably. Some rags and some duct tape, and run the air in one side of the water pump. You'd probably want to plug the heater core outlet/inlet, and blow that out separately.
