My jeep is a 1990 cherokee lerado xj motor is all stock and it just started overheating when idling i dont mean fully overheating but usually in the arizona heat all summer it would never run over 210 but now it just keeps climbing when i put it in park and if i sit in drive at a drive through in drive

Any ideas guys i was thinking of flushing out the antifreeze?

Also my main fan on the right side always runs i think its supposed to but the fan to the left like the drivers side only turns on when it gets to 210 is this normall?

 

Any routine cooling system maintenance in a while? Replace water pump, fan clutch, t-stat and cover, radiator, rad cap, rad hoses, heater hoses, belt, coolant flush? Efan set to come on at 218F.

 

closed cooling system? if so, i'd look at upgrading to an open cooling system. it saved me a ton of headaches. my 1990 ran great for awhile, then started getting way to warm. i fought that thing for way to long, then switched over to the open cooling system. i spent a fraction on the entire used open cooling system compared to what i spent trying to keep the old closed cooling system going.
