Coolant tempature sensor location?

I looked in my Haynes manual and the manual said its normally on thermostat housing but I do not see it there just to hoses on the neck and that is it.

Look near the rear right of the valve cover (on the motor) thats where you should find it on your year jeep...Tj

the one on the drivers side closest to the fire wall is a little sensor known as the Temp sending unit. it controls your gauge in the car, the second one is located on the drivers side under the #2 header pipe on the block about 8" down from the header pipe. that one tells your computer the coolant temperature.
