Coolant temp sensor problems
I just bought a 96' xj that had a bad engine. I finally found a good used 4.0 to replace it with. Durring instalation of the good engine i noticed that my old motor had a coolant temp sensor in the head on the driver rear side.... My good replacement engine however does not have a hole for the temp sensor. The engine runs fine but my temp gauge don't work. Any cheap tricks to fix this problem, Without adding aftermarket gauges or having machine work done to the head? Plz help! Thanks. Is there any way to tap into the sensor on the thermostat housing? Or are the resistance scales differt for the 2 sensors?
i have this same problem in my 96 with motor swap also. we just didnt hook it back up. but im running an aftermarket gauge anyways. but my dummy light always kicks on and off alot.
