im replacing the coolant temp sensor so it can be read on the dash. i got it from napa part number ts5018. has anyone done this and is this the correct number. anybody have pics cuz i read some people say its in the intake some say in the head. mine is a 89 renix engine thanks.

 

Renix is a temp switch rear of head coolant temp sensors on block by drivers motor mount. That's wrong sensor for gauge that looks like temp sensor on block.

There is also a temp sensor in the driver side of the radiator right above the lower rad hose that makes your aux fan turn on

 

That's called fan switch ....it can get confusing.

 

ok so the one i got is wrong ill have to return it. so the one i need gose in the head not the intake? any photes for location. anyone know the napa part number

 

Napa gauge temp sender part no. ECH TS6053

 

It's located towards the back of head between the valve cover and the intake manifold. The wire that goes to it is brown with a black end.

 

that number didnt come up i think its this ECH TS6655

My bad, I assumed it would be the same as my 87. Turns out yours is about $5 less expensive.
