coolant temp sensor?
Wondering if there is such a thing as a renix 4.0 without a coolant temp sensor?
I'm not confusing the sensor with the sender. 1 is for the gauge & 1 is for the computer.
Mine (89) is suppose to be drivers side under the manifold going into the block........... but guess what??? It ain't there.
My sender is drivers side near rear corner of the valve cover.
I wanted to throw some more parts at it & dang if I can locate this sensor.

OK thanks going to take a peek.
Will a bad cool sensor affect re-start when engine warms up? I have been having thermal failure when she warms up if I try to re-start after a 5 to 15 min. shut down. She starts fine upon immediate re-start or when she's cool......but if I wait 5 to 15 mins.....she will start but it's real rough until I get going a little.
I picked up a cool sensor to re-place the one I thought was under the manifold in the side of the block but then came the no lo-ca-toe.......

Haven't messed with the cool sensor yet but I picked up a ballast resister & relay plug that sits right by the ballast res. & now the dang thing will crank but shuts right back down. At least before when it cranked it would keep running once it started.
Why would a new ballast res. & new relay plug affect the start & immediate shutdown?

Just found the "new" ballast res. is bad. Took it back. Put the old one back in & starts fine. Unless it's at operating temp. Then I still have thermal fail.
