Default coolant leaking from clutch?

4.0 with auto trans. combo and i think i am leaking coolant from inbetween my clutch housing and the spacer plate. Im thinking either its just leaking somewhere else and dripping down? or something is really messed up?

thanks in advance

A coolant leak from the bellhousing is usually a freeze/welsh plug. There are three plugs on rear of block, center one holds coolant.
The tranny has to be removed for access.

Probably the core (some refer to them as freeze) plug rusted through. If so might as well change them all.

I'd clean it really well, get a really good light, and take a really good look. The rearmost freeze plug on the left side below the manifolds, as well as the one in the rear of the head may well end up dripping off the Bell Housing. It would suck to pull the tranny and go after the ones on the rear of the block, just to find it was another.

That one in the rear of the head is almost imposable to see. A dental mirror? Trying to isolate that one from those under your flex plate is a real booger. I might put a dry rag or something on a stick or something and get it down in there against the rear of the head and see if it comes up wet. (don't let it start a fire from the hot exhaust manifold!).
