Default coolant leak from the hose

ok guys for some reason my hose on the bottom for the coolant leaks and i dont know why. it doesn't leak while its running but when it sits for a while like over night i go out to my jeep and theres a puddle on the ground! i cant figure it out. the hose seems fine and i re adjusted the hose clamp and made sure it was really tight but for some reason when it sits it dribbles down the hose and leaks coolant. i just replaced the thermostat and flushed the radiator as well and it also doesn't over heat. i need help on what to do thanks guys.

Try replacing the hoses.

If you have a water leak off the lower radiator hose while setting, you may have a leaking water pump.

May even be a loose clamp.

I am in agrement with cruiser54, your water pump is about to go, the leak is from the "weep" hole on the pump, which I believe is designed that way to let you know that the pump is almost done..

but, I have been wrong before....

cheers!

Clean off the coolant and check again to confirm, but it does indeed sound like the water pump.

On the up side, they are fairly cheap to replace.

its coming from the hose that you can see from the drivers side and it just dribbles out when it sits for a while. should i try replacing the hose before the water pump?

Upper hose= thermostat one side, radiator, other side. (passenger side)

Lower Hose= Water pump one side, radiator, other side. (driver side)

usually.

Chances are pretty good that the hoses need to be replaced anyway, you might as well do the water pump and t-stat along with the heater hoses. Use new hose clamps, do not re-use the factory clamps if they are still there.

It is leaking from the hose that goes to the water pump I'm gonna try to just replace that hose and new clamps and see if it stops. I know I might need a waterpump but ill try that first

I agree with Bustedback you are going to be in there anyway may as well replace both water pump and hose. the pump runs around $30 at autozone.
