Default Converting my 88's front axles to CV

I'm thinking of swapping my axles with CV joint axles. I did lots of searching here and elsewhere however I just want to verify what axles will work. Rock Auto shows CV axles for my 88 even though they weren't available from the factory. I'm not sure if this is a mistake or not. This is what they list:
SURTRACK Part # CH8220 CV Axle Shaft One of our most popular parts
Front Left; 4WD; Except Selec-Trac

Will this work? The Jeep is hwy driven and 4wd is only used in snowy conditions.
Thanks
Todd

Why do you want cv axles? Normally people who have cv axles(grand Cherokees) always swap to a proper u-joint axle

I saw those. Might be a bit of overkill for what I'll be using my Jeep for. Ok, I'd love to have them but the pocketbook won't allow them!

Good call on the CV swap for peace of mind especially with family in the Jeep. The Trackmotive HDX axles should hold up better than stock, and yeah, CH8220HDX/CH8221HDX are the right numbers. Let us know how they perform on the trail. If they work, it’s a solid upgrade for reliability. If not, at least you tried. Hope they serve you well.

I'll have to add a reminder on Google to circle back to this thread in another 11 years, and see if he got back to you.....

I have run both types and have not seen any difference. I will say the CV's don't get a bunch of crud in the U joints, since there isn't one! Lol. 35 swampers, front locker.

You don't see a difference in performance between the C/HDX and standard? Does that mean that you eventually break both?

Michigan trails & mudding, no rock climbing stuff. No breakage except a small u- jointed axle a ways back.
