Default control arm questions

I went to get my 96 cherokee aligned today and was told they could not do it. When I asked why they said because my CA bushings were shot of the front left side of both upper and lower arms.

He said its better/easier/cheaper to just by new stock upper and lower control arms than to put bushings in.

I thought I could get bushings and just press the bushings in/out?? I guess its not that easy? any help would be great.

I would, but after rims, tires, lift, funds are low. So I need to find some stock ones for now.

I am in the same boat. Bushings are worn and now after lift they clunk on turns. What are some options in contol arms. I also wonder if I need slightly longer as my jeep tends to wonder a bit at highway speeds.

You will indeed save money and time and alot of effort by replacing the lowers with new ones. The uppers you can do to. but on the uppers/ axle end the bushing is built into the axle. It is a big pain to do if it is the first time doing it.

the shop probably suggested the arms instead of bushing, because of the extra labor to do bushings, beyond the arm. if you can do the work yourself, then do it, upper bushings are like $30, and lowers are $40 a pair from napa, etc
