01 XJ 4.0. My AC compressor went bad a few months ago. Blew the front seals out. I was just about to buy a new compressor and filter drier when I came across some new to me info. The website said that the condenser cannot be flushed and should be replaced. I've never heard this before. I did residential HVAC work for about 5 years and never heard of needing to replace a condenser unless we were changing refrigerant types.
Can anyone shed any light? I thought maybe this was an automotive hvac issue I hadn't heard of, but I also thinking it's just an up-sell technique. I plan on pulling a deep vacuum and refilling with compressor oil along with the new compressor and drier.
Thanks

It depends on how your compressor went bad if it was grinding it would put out the Teflon coating that get into the condenser and it can not be flushed out . but running the a/c system will brake loose some pieces and they will plug up the orifice tube . If your was just leaking then it should be OK , but that's if it was only leaking and lost the front seal .

Compressor went out because the bearing in the clutch assembly failed, causing a ton of heat. Enough heat that the belt snapped when I shut the motor down
