Unhappy computer module shot

so... im drivin down the road... i recently cut a hole in my hood to vent for heat, its covered and bairly any water gets into engine bay... also i cut a hole in my cowl to start a cold air intake build, also hardly any water gets into hole. ... anyways... im drivin and my engine just dies and i lose all power .... all electronics are workin, window, sound system, lighter plugs, etc... but the jeep wont crank .... i get the error code NO BUSS ... hook up the code reader and it gives me P 1694 ....

i take that code to auto zone so they could tell me what it ment... and they are tellin me that the main computer is shot and i need a new one... its 350 bucks ...

So before i go spending that money to replace it , how might i trouble shoot this? or reset the computer? ... etc.... my theory is that water got in thru the hole in the cowl and got my computer a lil damp... and its shot ... odd thing is though that it went out on me while i was moving after it was driving fine all day long... ALL DAY LONG ... i put about 10K miles a month on my jeep for work...

all you jeep genius's out there... please help me out ... in much need of assistance.
