note; the hole i cut by the hood hinge could have been a little neater!!! , but it allowed me to goop up the vent without cutting the top hole in the cowling. no difficult sealing after.
your choice , think it over. its hard to get at the vent all around but necessary.

So it turns out that the water leak was not from the cowl, but actually the windshield itself! Upon having that replaced, then drying out the interior (took the dash apart for air flow) with electric heaters. Everything is running 100%
