Post Computer issues

Good morning,
to start off, my Jeep in question is an export from the US.. RHD..4.0 6cyl (1996 model)..

I have been having some problems when i start it up..it tumbles ALOT before it starts.. when it actually starts, the dash lights keep flickering, i stutters and cuts off.. the jeep mechanics in my country arent very reputable.. i have tried just abt everything.. one mechanic now claims the brain is no good (:s)..

does anyone have any suggestion with regards the way forward? i was actually considering flying up and raiding through a scrap yard to remove the brain from a cherokee.. but not even sure if it is indeed the brain...plzz help!!

Lights flickering wouldn't necessarily be caused by the "brain" as you call it. This sounds like a battery grounding issue or chassis grounding issue. Is the ground strap connected from the firewall to the back of the head?
