The plugs, cap, rotor, wires, and ignition coil, all have been replaced about 2 weeks ago.

P0340 is no cam sensor signal at PCM. I see you said you changed the cam sensor. Where did you get the cam sensor, what brand?

The cam sensor connector is in a nasty location. It can get oil and crap all over, and in it. Clean the connector off inside and out with Electronics Cleaner. The connector or the wiring for the cam sensor may be defective. Examine the connector pins/sockets carefully for pushed back pin sockets and corrosion in the pin sockets. Check the wiring going to the harness connector for damaged wiring.

If you can keep the engine running, try wiggling the wire harnesses and see if it makes a difference,

The other two codes, P0132 and P0138, are O2S codes, as you can see. Before checking or replacing the O2S's always check the O2S heater fuse in the PDC. Attached is a pic of the fuse location.

Check the above and get back.

I didn't see where you inspected and cleaned the ground points in your engine bay.

If nothing else, check the ground wire teminals at ground point G101 (pic attached) for corrosion and security. You can see that G101 is at the ignition coil mount studs.

Here's some data pertaining to P0132 and P0138:

hold it - before you do ANYTHING, check your grounds (back of the valve cover to firewall, battery (-) to fender, and battery (-) to block by the oil check tube). Poor grounds will cause all sorts of engine issues when it comes to sensor malfunctions.

In each case remove the ground, clean and scuff with sandpaper until shiny, and then reattach. I'd also throw a new pair of battery terminals on there.

your compression numbers aren't great, but they're within spec

dukie564,

Good advice, but I showed him where to check his significant ground points. See previous post.

In his Jeep, the ground point at the oil dipstick tube are the DLC grounds, and the firewall ground point is a radio noise suppression ground point.

Here's a link to the engine bay ground points in his Jeep.

Sorry to Hijack the post.
Do you ahve the same ground details for a 1989?

I'm having issues with the turn signals not flashing (only when they want). Tried new bulbs, and the problem persisted thru a full harness change (after an altercation with a high bumpered land cruiser)

I'd love to refresh the grounds on it.

Have you replaced the turn signal relay? I had a similar problem, on the 99 its behind the panel under steering wheel

Driver's side inner fender near the EGR solenoid.

Check out the connector referred to in this write-up also.

I suggest unplugging EVERY electrical connection in the engine bay you can find, whether engine related or not, and spraying it out with a good electronics cleaner, visually inspecting the terminals making sure they haven’t retracted into the plastic holder, and then plugging it back together. There’s a critical 10-pin connector for the front lighting system located in front of the air cleaner and behind the left headlight assembly. Don’t miss that one. Also be sure that the connectors to the ballast resistor mounted near the air cleaner housing are clean and tight.
ALL of the relays should be removed, the terminals wire-brushed until shiny, and the receptacles sprayed out with contact cleaner. Then plug them back in. I do this on every Renix Jeep I purchase or work on for someone else.

From your description in the OP i was thinking grounds and possibly IAC since you didn't mention that and I like to change that when I do the TPS since they kind of work together.

Found the issue, the Alternator was screwed up.
