A lot of trolling going on. A lot of juevenile bashing, haughtiness, and no facts based on actual experience with this mod. I posted actual experience - sorry if that interferes with the trolling here.

I was just curious why you would remove it and use a smaller filter which therefore filters less. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I think 89limited has done a little more then just a weekend drive off road. So I would take his experience on this mod over yours.

This. A thousand times this. People don't seem to be real great thinkers anymore. The entire point of business is to charge the MOST for the LEAST - you can't do that by adding unnecessary crap!

I'm sorry that not everyone is able to post "actual experience" of doing dumb ****. I can tell you that jumping off of a cliff hurts - but if I haven't personally jumped off of a cliff. So based on what you're saying, I guess people should just do it anyway? Come on buddy.

My point is that many people including myself actually DO have experience doing this and have had no issues.

And then a bunch of people who presumably HAVE NOT done this, and have ZERO experience with this, post disparaging rather than informative comments on the thread.

If you actually have personal experience, then it seems you would have something relevant to add.

If you are just making disparaging remarks about something that has worked WELL for many of us, then your comment was useless and out of place.

It mind boggling why, if someone is going through all that trouble removing the adapter, why not just fix the gasket and reinstall so the proper spec filter can be used. This just seems like a mod that goes right next too using a budget boost. All that work for little gain and a waste of time

But, one poster in this thread for sure had an issue. And I've seen threads on other forums with the same results. Regretful results as in being stranded out on a trail.

Let's look at it this way. Does everything have to be perfect as far as mounts, daily and recreational use to prevent a puncture?

If any doubt, don't do the mod.

And don't push an idea that has potentially disastrous issues on to other members of the Jeep community and then complain about the idea being bashed. Pun intended.

Being someone that has done this "mod" once budget allows I'm going with a remote filter kit and I get the big filter back and no more oil covered starter and axle. Just tried of changing oil filters everywhere and having to keep a spare filter in my jeep till next time it cracks.

I've been running this mod on my expensive stroker on my 92 for 4 years. No problems. Less room for things to go wrong. The only way it will leak is if the block becomes uneven (not likely) or the filter gasket isn't up to par (easy fix). Go troll somewhere else. This site and it's information is too valuable for people to misguide the real owners from actual fixes that work.

I've ran this mod. Never again. People who wheel have issues. People who just run the street never have issues.

This site does have tons of good info. Most written by cruiser. A person who I made a moderator.
