Default Cold air intake heat shield

Thinking about fabbing up a decent heat shield for a cold air intake. Plan on going with rusty's intake kit with the 4.5x5" filter. Problem is I'm not about how I should fab up a proper heat shield that dosen't look too homebrewed but also works to make the system at least cold-er air. Anyone have any good plans or materials to use?

IMO, unless you move the intake OUT of the engine bay, your are wasting time and money. if you leave it inside. don't bother will a shield, build a full box that draws from the outside.

You could also put a vent in the hood like ram air. JMO. I'm doing this on mine in a few weeks and will post pic's. I am getting the CAI from this link...Tj

Hear shield won't do much unless you remove your headlight, cowl the hood, lift the rear with washers, or cut a scoop in. On trails there is not enough air moving through engine bay to lower IAT temps. Only solution is to pull air in fom outside. Hood was designed to be sealed as best as possible to keep water/dust/ect out.

But then again it won't hurt either, if you must get one the I suggest the AFE also.
