codes ugh

01 xj sport
CEL keeps comin on. Just installed fm super 44 with 2.5 piping from cat back.
Reading codes P0420 and P0456

Plz help. Is there any way to fix these without breaking the bank?

Not sure how to fix but a p0420 is a catalyst system effeincy below threshold and the p0456 is evap. system leak detected when i had a p0456 mine was a loose gas cap and when i get a p0420 i erase it with my scanner

So there nothing detrimental to me then. The gascap was the first thing i checked. Its tight. So the cat thing? Is it a warning sign for needing a new one?

Could be post cat O2 sensor. Thats what was wrong with my Tacoma. I finally got tired of clearing code.
