how do i pull codes from my 88 xj 4x4 6cly without the fancy tools. i know the connector is under the hood. need told how to do it . it just cranks without any hit at all. thanks steve

you cannot pull codes from 87 to 90 cherokee the computer does not store them nor do you have a check engine light ,the are renix systems it is 4.0 correct
