i did the self diagnostics on my jeep and it flash 3 then paused then 5 the paused then 5 and paused. what does this mean

You probably caught the tail end of a code ending in 3. 55 flashes to signal "end of stored code". I'm pretty sure they all flash 3 times before moving on.
