Default Code 61 barometric pressue sensor cant locate

Hi all:

My cherokee is stalling out from time to time. Have a code 61 stating its the 'baro' sensor. Cant seem to find any refrence to it. Would like to know where it is. If someone can tell me, thanks...

I think it's referring to the Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) Sensor. Located on the firewall.

This data is from a 1994 FSM but it may be the same as a '91.

Picked up a MAp at the wreckers today. Put it in and no more code 61 and runs so much better now as well as no stalling. BAR Solenoid/sensor=MAP on a 91 at least.

Thanks CCKen.

See if you test it using the instructions I posted above.

Problem solved it got stolen last night! Hundreds of hours in the past few years spent on it. All u joints done, brakes, body, interior. Was looking too good I guess for some punk. My autistic sons is crying and crying for 'daddy's jeep, daddy's jeep' as it our jeep command fire truck most of the time. So in two weeks guess I'll haul the rest of our stuff across the Rockies by cupping our shirts and filling them. Gonna be a few trips. Unbelievable.

It was recovered. Seems it was left blocking traffic on a side road. LOL. MAP sesnsor issue causing it to stall. Had to pump the gas pededl close to the floor many times to get it to start. Had less than a 1/4 tank of gas when stolen now has over 1/2 tank. Car was tossed and a bunch of stuff stolen from it and a broken steering column housing.
Good the 'new' map sensor didnt fix the problem.
