Clutch peddle gets soft

Clutch peddle gets soft
This is the next thing to fix on my XJ. It seems if you hold the clutch in too long , that the clutch feels soft and it gets hard to shift into the gears. I would think this might be the Master cyl or slave cyl . I have not found any big leaks . Any 1 have this problem before?

sound like the clutch master is by passing internally like a master cyl will when you hold the pedal down and it slowly goes to floor
