Default Clutch not shifting unless pumped first please help ASAP?

Hey, So my 97 is having trouble shifting, and will not shift while on unless I pump the clutch pedal first, what is the problem?
P.S. I am trying to avoid bleeding the master cylinder because the bleeder screw is broken somehow, and I would have to replace it but I don't have the money right now..... and I don't know what I would have to replace in order to get it.

You need to bleed it. How's the bleeder on the slave?

If it had a bleeder either some one change it or you got the only 97 ever produced with one.
