Default Clutch Is Acting Up

Hey All,

This morning I knew something was wrong w/ my truck. Some guy was under it with a flashlight last night, (but you know Moms!!) Doing something under it with a Hammer. Dont laugh, really this isn't a joke! I went out to start it this morning and when I opened my door, the clutch pedal looked like it had dropped a few inches. I started it up and it was totally fine. Went to throw it into reverse and with my foot all the way to the floor on the clutch, it still rolled backwards without me having to give it any gas at all. In fact, I had to turn the Jeep off to stop it from moving. It shifts and has good pressure on the pedal when it's off. Im new to driving a standard, but seriously it acted totally normal before until this crap went on last night. I don't need this stuff going on. Please help me, should I press charges?

So, someone was under your vehicle hitting it with a hammer and you didn't call the police then?

I'm so confused...

If it had anything to do with the hammer it would have to be a busted master/slave cylinder line.

Maybe he stole your clutch fluid.

Have you checked the fluid level?

Either that or your newness to driving a manual transmission has caused the lack of a clutch.

Not when you just move in and have a busted cell phone charger. Im at a loss for words. I have put in almost 700 and now it'll probably be a thousand for a clutch replacement for something I didn't even do!!!

Im still confused, and you didn't answer Lowrange's questions. Have you taken a peek at the fluid or checked under the Jeep yet to see if the slave cylinder is broken or what damage was done?

Umm.. Tough situation.. No phone, new area.. But that SOB wouldn't have been able to walk away if I saw that happening to my jeep!! I'd say to ahead and call the cops. Also, maybe have someone mechanically inclined look under your jeep to check for any other damage/vandalism. Don't find out while on the interstate that the jackass did something to compromise your safety! Good luck. Also, look into some pepper spray or a taser incase there's a next time!!

Thanks for help guys. I will not be repairing this problem until I move in January. Ill see if there is fluid in it. The thing thats funky though, is my neighbors Automatic Transmission Fluid was drained too. (He has a newer Jeep.) I find this absolutely pathetic and I hope the low life that did this has the exact same thing happen to him. My next door neighbor and I have alerted all people in the area and we have webcams up around the property. Im sorry, Ive had enough of my stuff being screwed with, and my Jeep is NO exception.

It may take 2 minutes to put fluid back in it... I'll give you 200 bucks for the Jeep as it sits.

For some people it takes 4. My cap always seems to get stuck.
