Default Cluster Swap Complete

Swapped my "Idiot Light" cluster for one with real gauges tonight. Really wasn't too bad. Plenty of write-ups on this, so I didn't take any pics.

Swapped a 94 cluster into my 95 XJ. And I did have to swap out the Oil Pressure Switch (Sending Unit) and the Coolant Switch (Sending Unit). The Coolant Switch is not fun to get to. I strongly suggest letting your engine cool first. I was real anxious, so I've got a couple of burnt knuckles.

Everything works, but I am a little surprised at a couple of my gauge readings. Oil pressure has a pretty steady 60psi. It does move a little with RPM, but not much. And my coolant temp is reading just over 210. Seems a little warm. Should I worry?

Overall, I'm real happy. It sure is fun watching my new Tach

Yeah I did the swap too and I read about the same unless I get on the highway with the air on. Then it shoots to 230 yikes. But I did the opposite of you took a cluster from a 95 and swapped into a 94

Haynes manual calls for a 195 Thermostat. I would think the jeep should run 210 or less. Just didn't expect to see it above 210.

a 180 stat is your best friend, not to low to be cold and not to high so it doesn't get hot, mine runs around 200 with the 180 stat and stock radiator on a 94 in cali
