cluster quit working
so heres the story. my dad went out and borrowed my jeep. he left the lights on for too long and killed my battery. so i came over in another vehicle to give it a jump. expet my stupid dad crossed the cables. and blew my alt fuses and my ecu. so i replaced both alt fuses and the ecu but now my entire guage cluster doesn't work. and some weird 7.5amp fuse keeps blowing. A what could cause the gauge cluster not to work. and B wtf is the 7.5 amp fuse for?...i had to change the ecu cause the engine was running like crap and smelled like fuel and i checked the map and the other sensors and the fusible link for the alt and what not. and when i replaced the ecu it got it back to normal. but for some reason the gauge cluster stopped working. it was working up until my dad tried to jump it with crossed cables. ohh the jeep is a 95 4.0 with an aw4.

sounds like a wire fried before you guys caught the cables were backwards.
and your dad is probably not stupid, he has been a part of your raising and you probably don't consider your self stupid. just cause he is not so hot on cars, i would refrain from calling my dad stupid
especially with the screen name you have chosen, not very christian like

what wire though? and do you know what the 7.5 amp fuse is for. the thing is my dad thinks he knows more about vehicles then i do and trust me he can be very stupid at times. i still love him though. but back to the jeep what issues could cause the entire cluster to fail and what is it that goes through that brown 7.5 amp fuse under the dash.

no idea on the cluster wiring, you need someone with a newer jeep, mine is an 87. i was just letting you know that people had read your thread so you didn't get discouraged from no one answering it
im use to getting no reply. and im clueless to this jeep as far as the cluster goes. all the vehicles i owned before this where made before 1985 and they were all Chevy's. so they never had gauage cluster problems. at least not the whole thing going at once. and im not going to assume that the speedo cable the tach and the rest of the sending units broke....maybe that stupid fuse has something to do with it.
