Clunking sound coming from rear? Help?

Ever since I put my 3" RC Series II lift on a few weeks ago on my 2001 XJ, I have had clunking noises coming from the rear of the vehicle whenever I hit a decent bump in the road. I literally just checked the tightness of all bolts 5 minutes ago and everything is good to go. I have no idea what could be causing this or where it is coming from. It sounds like a solid clunk sound whenever the rear takes a good bump. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I'm confident something isn't going to fall apart while driving, but the noise doesn't sound good and is driving me crazy! Thanks for any help

Here are some pics that may or may not help. Does anyone see anything that appears off with the springs, shackles, etc. that could be giving me my clunking?

yup theres your problem, check out that shackle angle its way off. everytime you go over a bump the wheel goes down and brings the leaf and shackle with it, and when you go back to level ground the shackle slams the body. the same thing is happening on my jeep in the rear right. 5.5 leaf with stock shackle isnt a good mix.

Well I have a RC 3" lift with new leaf packs. I don't want to lift the jeep any higher, so how do I go about fixing the problem? I had a feeling it was the shackle hitting the body. I figured I could use my stock shackle with that lift kit, considering it didn't come with new ones, so now what do I do?

Sorry for bumping, but from the response I've received it seems the problem is most likely the shackle angle and shackle hitting the frame when I go over bumps. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks,

That's what I figured too, kind of crappy that you buy a complete kit and then you still have to address issues like this.

that's what i like about rubicon express, their kits come complete with everything you need right off.
but anyhow, you can either grab yourself some new shackles, you will get lift with anything but stock length. you want 4 inch shackles. that will give you 2 inches of lift and get that shackle away from the body.
or you can try using a set of comanche shackles, they will only give you about 3/4 - 1 inch of lift. they may or may not fix your problem tho.

the only problem with doing it this way is that I will add lift to the rear which I actually don't want to do. My jeep is evenly lifted right now, and I want to avoid having the rear higher than the front. What if I cut out part of the rear bumper on the inside so the shackle doesn't hit it when it moves against the frame?
