Default Clunking noise from rear of Jeep

Everytime I go over a bump there is a cluck/ rattle from the rear part of my '96 Jeep Cherokee. Not the rear end just in the back somewhere. I've looked underneath a few times but can't find anything loose or hitting. Any ideas?

Receiver hitch?? If the hitch sits loose in the receiver, it will rattle/clunk...

I don't have a hitch on the Jeep. I'll check the shock bolts. If the bolts broke, how do you get the treaded part out?

Doesn't every Cherokee have this problem? Isnt that why they make these?
