Default Clunking/grinding sound when i apply breaks

Alright so it's a hard sound to explain. It's a low pitch clunking sound when I apply the breaks and it appears to be coming from the back. When I slowly left of the breaks it happens. But if I quickly release the brakes it's fine. Also, when I am pushing on the breaks to slow down the sound does happen until I am almost to a stop. Any ideas of what it could be would be greatly appreciated.

Have you removed the wheels & drums to actually see what it looks like. If not I'd start there.

No I haven't, guess that would be a good place to start. Any ideas of what it could be though?

Post back.
I'm having the same issue. I did the rear brakes a couple of weeks ago, now terrible vibe when applied. I know its the reart from pulling up on the hand brake. I've done drum brakes before, I hate them but still haven't had this issue. I did have an out of round drum on my old chevy. Replaced it and gone. Don't see anything odd on my jeep. Would bad wheel cylinders do it? Or bad hand brake adjustment.

This is what it sounds like https://youtu.be/Kzx-XMXdxw0 I'll go check and seeing it is the control arm. But it only makes this sounds when I brake
