clunk underneath on cold start
Hey guys,
When I start my Jeep on a cold start (not ambient temperature cold start, just hasn't ran in 6 hours plus cold start), it sounds like it's struggling to start and I get this knock sound that comes from underneath. The knock doesn't continue when it runs, it's just one or two knocks during starting like when the starter is catching the fly wheel, and only on a cold start. This thing has always sounded jenky on a cold start but I think this knock is becoming more prevalent. Does anybody know what this is? Thanx.

also.... it doesn't sound like it's under the valve cover... it sounds like it's coming from underneath, maybe in the area where the tranny and engine connect... I'll have to have some one else start it while I'm underneath to get a better idea... but maybe some one else has already experienced this problem?

It could be a a broken exhaust mount, but my friend fixed a noise like that by replacing front sway bar bushings. I don't know what does it on my jeep.
