Clunk in Transfer Case? Sounds like slack?
There seems to be an inordinate amount of slack in the front output shaft of my 231-J Transfer case. I am able to turn the yoke back and forth a good deal, and it makes a distinct clunking sound. Is this normal? If it's not normal, what can be done to correct it? I have the tranny sitting on a stand while I have it pulled out during an engine overhaul/cleanup, so I would like to get this taken care of while its out if there is something wrong. Any input is welcome!
