Clunk and roll when put in gear
i have a 95 xj. 4.0 auto and it seems to have a clunk when i put it in gear and it rolls forwar or back depending on which gear. Ive heard it may be the drive shaft bearings. Any info would help

You mean u-joints? there are bearings in the caps of the u-joints. If that is what your refering to,place it in park and block the tires so it will not roll and turn the drive shafts by hand and see if there is any slope in the u-joint. If there is no play then look at the diff, see if there is alot of movement there.
that is what i was refering to. And ill try the blocks tomorrow. Ill be lifting it soon and gettin a new shaft, sye and all so it woulb probably be a good time to swap anything else out if that were the problem. Thanx bro
