Clockspring /Airbag , change spring
This is just an open question for discussion. I will soon change my clockspring due to annoying sporadic light / chime that I cant ignore anymore. More thsn likey the clockspring from everything Ive read. Even when unhooking battery and waiting up to an hour. I will still be nervous like the bag could somehow go off / some cap that didnt discharge, freak type thing... THE REAL QUESTION. When ppl talk of disconnecting Battery, as extra insurance, why dont they say to unplug the clockspring plugs after you is connected battery. Remove plastic shell halves around column and its right there. see pic (ps im sure most everybody knows this but.....)

If you're worried about deploying the Airbags just disconnect the Airbag Quick Disconnect, C205 (see pic). It will be a lot easier than accessing the Airbag connector on the Clockspring.
Remove the battery negative post connector.
Remove the trim panel and knee blocker from under the steering column.
Unplug and isolate the Airbag Quick Dsconnect (Yellow connector). This electrically isolates both Airbags.
Reinstall panels.

Directly under the steering column behind the knee plate.
I don't remove the plastic halves to unplug the clock spring because those things are a pain to deal with and it's unneccesary. I disconnect the battery, pop the wheel off, replace the clock spring and put it all back together. 20 minute process.
