I think that the clock spring on my 99 XJ is going bad. The airbag light comes on first which I know it controls then the check engine light comes on and a couple of my gauges quit working and instead of getting milieage it says "no bus" whatever that means. Ive had multiple people tell me its the clock spring and what I've read leads me to believe it is.
Any other suggestions before I go ripping into this thing with a new part?

I think the "no buss" thing may be related to the CPS, the airbag light could be on for any reason of things, but most likely the clock spring is worn through in a few spots.

possible loose connection to your gauges also
Mine did this for 6 months or so, airbag light would come on, then gauges would cut out. bang on the dash n it comes right back...

oh and if you do have to replace your clock spring
make sure you lock the steering wheel, and DO NOT remove the tabs from the spring until installed.
clock springs are timed, If you get it out of time, there is no way to get in back in time. this is very dangerous, it can render you airbag useless or accidentally set it off
