Clock Spring
I have a 99 cherokee XJ. I need to replace the clock spring (typical symptom.. airbag light ..no horn..no cruise...).
My question is, my XJ has cruise which I never use, can I use a clock spring that comes without cruise (since its about half the price)? Besides a loss of all cruise functions, will anything else be affected?
Thank you in advance!!

Don't quote me on this but I don't see why not. Just so happens I pulled all the cruise control stuff off a '99 today at the boneyard. Putting Cruise Control in my '00. So here is a link to a non cruise one at Napa:

Here are some shots of the cruise one. Only thing I think I see different is the green connector that goes into a short harness that goes into the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. Sorry for the picture quality.

UPDATE: I used the Dorman clock spring without cruise and it went in without a hitch. Everything works (airbag light off, Horn operational). Obviously the cruise won't work because I purchased a clock spring without cruise saving myself about $70, and I have never used cruise even when it was working.
Thanks for the reply Ralph77!!

Glad to help and you helped me. I was wondering if I could install all the cruise control stuff in the steering wheel now and put in the actuator and vacuum lines in the engine compartment later. Reason being I put in factory fogs in my '00 that did not come with them. Look factory on the outside and factory in the passenger compartment but had to wire them up not factory in the engine compartment. Like an idiot I put the relay where the actuator goes. So now I have to move it.
