Clicking noise while turning steering

Hi Guys, on my '96 XJ, when I turn the steering (left or right), randomly it makes clicking noise that appears to be coming right under the driver seat. Is it the sway bar link rod gone bad or something else?

a good way to find out is to lift the front, crawl under there, grab the steering components etc and feel if there is play....have somebody turn the steering wheel from stop to stop while you check for clicking etc.
