I was spankin this lame hill today in mah stock jeep when 4H wasn't enough for the first time. Well, we did get a lot of rain since I last went to this spot. Anyhoot. I had to back down the hill and put my rig into 4L. I licked the hill and when I got to the top and was just idling around in a circle and the transfer(?) started making a clicking noise like when you roll in Park. I immediately stopped through the tranny into nuetral and went back to 2H. Any idea what this was?

i've had this problem when purchasing a jeep that the previous owner hasn't used in 4lo.
maybe it's the linkage not engaging it totally.
you might have to adjust the t-case linkage.
