Default Clicking on acceleration or high RPM

I just recently got a jeep and I am not sure if this is normal or not.

Basically, when I accelerate heavily or the RPM is higher than 2500 there is a clicking sound coming from the left side of the vehicle. It is not metallic, more like electric clicking of a relay (the turn indicator sound is similar to it) switching on and off rapidly (maybe 2-3 times per second). The speed of the clicking doesn't seem to be affected by the RPM or vehicle speed. It does seem to get louder (just a little) if the pedal is pressed harder.

Any ideas on what it may be would be helpful.

may not be an electrical problem, could be an exhaust leak off the manifold or downpipe. all of that is located on the left side. my manifold has a slight leak and it makes a sort of "ticking".
sound like it could be your issue?

hmm, could be, I will need to check it. The reason I thought it is electrical is because just yesterday it was looked at by a mechanic. They found a bunch of stuff wrong with it, but did not say the manifold had any issues.
Should the leak be easily detectable once the engine is running?

The exhaust was alright, the mechanic confirmed it. If U-joints can cause this, I will also replace them. I am now compiling the list of parts I need, will add a pair to the list.

Thank you.
