Alright so I did some searching and I'm still stumped. I cleaned my throttle body the other day and well now I'm idling at around 1500 and 2000 it fluctuates on it's own. I was actually hoping it would reduce the whistling my jeep makes and go figure it's more noticeable now. So 2 separate problems, whistle (not my manifold gasket or a vac leak I've checked both) and the higher than usual idle any suggestions?

what year model? i would say if u have a model with an adjustable throttle position sensor (tps) which were pre 96 maybe then chances are it was not adjusted properly at reinstall after cleaning
I thought all HOS had the "plug and play" TPS?
If you didnt take the IAC off you could of flooded it with cleaner and killed it, could have a vacuum leak in the TB gasket too.

Did u remove sensors to clean the t.b.? Did u clean sensors? If you have a multi meter you could test tps by probing it and turning it with a screwdriver and check for dead spots. Turn it slowly so you can notice if it drops off.

Didnt remove the sensors when I cleaned it but I used a "will not harm sensors" clean which I'm now assuming I'm now assuming is bull. I'm gonna pull them and check em tomorrow. Oh and as for my whistle it got worse after I cleaned the tb, sounds like it's coming from my alternator... Just another problem with my heep kind of getting sick of just expecting every problem especially seeing how I'm only working part time and don't have the extra cash to dump into this thing
The cleaner may not harm the sensors but it will blow all the junk from the throttle body on them. I always remove them and clean well with solvent and or contact cleaner. Be careful with the brittle plastic connections. Did anything get sprayed in the alt.? Water or mud? Could be bearings? You can use a 3/8 extension like a stethoscope on the alt. Body to see if there is a bearing drone noise coming from it.
