$400 for a CJ sounds very low, you could part it for a lot more. Is the running gear all in working order? There's a lot of guys out there looking for original parts.

If you can work it down, well the lower the better for you. Are you thinking of it as a project vehicle?

i would snag it man..sheet metal is workable and i am sure there are sites out there you could order a new tub from. Plus you can drop a small block in that thing with very little problems, my pops had one with an AMC 400 or whatever i know it was 400 something..lol the motor was built the CJ was sick the only thing i remember really about it was the fire engine red paint and lookin at the bright blue sky when racing the camaro's down the roads of seattle.

yeah my dad had to keep his hitch ball flipped upside down so when he launched it wouldn't just flip the jeep over, can remember a couple time being in it with sparks shooting off the hitch while the front tires were just "hangin out" thing was a beast.
