Alright, I apologize if this has been addressed somewhere else but I’m struggling to find information on it so I figured I’d ask here. I needed to install a parking brake on my Chrysler 8.25 axle after doing a ZJ disc brake swap. I figured I’d replace the axle seals and bearings while I had the axle out. Nothing was wrong, I just wanted to stay on top of maintenance and this axle has 217k on it. After replacing them I felt like the axle shafts had more play than they should for having brand new bearings. Also, after driving around tonight it appears that I have gear oil on the inside of my wheels. In doing research on this, I heard someone on the liberty forum say that the axle shaft served as the inner race of the bearing and needs to be replaced as well. Could that be my issue?
Btw, I’m very confident that I have the right seals and bearings and that we pressed them in correctly.

So it looks like I’m an idiot and my “leaking oil” is actually fluid film I sprayed on the hubs to prevent the wheels from seizing to them. Now I just need to figure out why my new Dana 30 axle seals are leaking lol
