Default chip key ?

So I took the computer from the parts xj i bought and swapped it into mine and now the engine will only run for a bout 3 seconds and it shuts down. I'm thinking this is probably because of the chip inside the key but i'm not 100% sure. anyone know if i'm on the right track?

Auto Shut Down. That is the anti-theft circuit built into the PCM. You may have to take it to the dealer for a flash program. There is no chip in the key.

Drive the key there in your Jeep, that way you'll have both there.

yea i do have the key for it. it doesnt do much good tho kuz it wont turn in the ingnition of the good one.. so i'm thinkin i can either try to get that key cut to the same as my other key, or i need to swap the ignitions because driving it to the stealership isnt really an option at this point. unless there was a way to temporarily bypass the auto-shutdown i dont really see any other options.

these are just my ideas.. i dont know much about it so i may be over complicating things so any input is appreciated.
