money saving recovery hooks
Got these hooks the other day in u pullit yard off a chevy truck, newer style cant miis them have a bend to them took hooks and bolt, and frame plate. Was looking at them today and noticed they are really close to the bolt pattern where the sway bar mounted. So i took a uni bit i bought at harbour freight for 14.99 cimes with two bits , Enlarged the holes in frame larged enought so the plate that came with the hooks can be used in side the frame to start the bolts straight. There is a small hole in the front of the frame rail that it fit in and wiggled it up so i could start the bolt in the chevy bracket i used longer bolts than came from the chevy. They were 12mmx1.75 and added washers to bring the hook down away from the frame on pass side to allow more room for hooking on to .On drivers side i dropped the bolts in the frame from the small hole on the side so they stuck down out of the frame and added washers and nuts. instant hooks . The frame is very thick in this area there is a plate in side for support .Better than the brackets and those litte bob the builder hooks offered on line i will test them this weekend dont think ther gonna pull out and you are not gonna bend them hooks.

Looks good, hope you used grade 8 or better, using the washers as spacers isn't going to be as strong as sticking a piece of 1/4-3/8 by 2" wide and 4-5" long. It would make for less stress on the bolts when being pulled.

Might be better off with grade 5. Grade 8 will break whereas 5 will bend first. X2 on the washers. Looks good and nice recycling.

Remove the washers, you want it bolted down solid, that gap is the weak point.
If they're to flat, heat them and put a little bend.
Other than that they look good and should work with the backing plate in there.
